SONNET DE COURVAL (Thomas). Satyre against the charlatans and pseudo-medicines empyriques. In which the tricks and deceptions of all theriacleurs, alchemists, chemists, paracelsists, distillers, extractors of quintescences, founders of drinking gold, masters of elixir, etc. are amply revealed. Paris, chez Jean Millot, 1610. 8 pages, [16] f. (of which 2 portr. & 1 blank f.), 335 p., 17th c. brown calf, spine with 5 nerves, tan title-piece, ornamented caissons, edges speckled, restorations, renewed white endpapers (light wetness in the head margins of the very first ff., stain on the frame of the second portrait).
