In-18, [2] f., 205 p., [1] f., portr., green aniseed morocco, spine with 2 raised bands, author and title gilt, gilt chain border, with large mosaic thorny branch, boards decorated with a rich mosaic composition with pierced hearts, carnations, and a central medallion portrait of a woman on the upper board and a man on the lower board, spine lining and endpapers of moiré satin with floral design, double marbled paper endpapers, illustrated cover and spine preserved, gilt edges on witnesses, matching folder and case [Ch. Meunier] (spine of folder unstained). First edition of this novel by Jean de Tinan, published under the name of Willy who finalized the writing. In the frontispiece, a portrait of Willy engraved on wood by Félix Vallotton and printed on Chine (perhaps added). Signed autograph letter from Willy signed with his other pseudonym Henry M[augis], to the Norman bibliophile Raymond Claude-Lafontaine. Beautifully decorated binding finely designed and made by Charles Meunier.
