The pieces in ivory or containing elements of ivory are from pre-convention specimens, prior to March 1st 1947 and in accordance with the EC Regulation 338/97 of 09/12/1996 art. - pending the application of Decree No. 2017-1583 of 17 November 2017 published in the OJ of 19 November, which completes the regulation of trade in ivory and rhinoceros horn manufactured before 1947 and which provides for certain terms of the Declaration provided for by the Order of 4 May 2017 for the trade in this type of object. The computer system of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Solidarity, which should allow this declaration to be made through the i-CITES application, is not yet operational.
