Saber lighter model An XI, blade and guard signed "Manceaux" (oxidation and pitting, broken tip). Leather scabbard with two brass fittings (accident). EM. Early 19th century . Joseph François Manceaux : Former head of the manufacture of bladed weapons at the Manufacture of Versailles. Settles as a forger in Paris (in 1806?). Became the great sword maker of the time. Patented manufacturer of swords with a folding plate. Directed the deposit of Klingenthal under the Empire then the deposit of the blades of the Royal Manufacture of Klingenthal.
